A Moment of Reflection

I’ve been thinking a lot about something I posted recently—about history, about monuments, about the things we choose to remember and how we choose to remember them. And while I stand by what I said, I also recognize that saying it the way I did may have hurt some of my neighbors, people I share this place with, people I respect.

For that, I apologize.

Not for my opinion, because I still believe in it. But for the way I put it out there—without enough care for how it might land, without considering that behind every opinion, behind every debate, there are real people with real feelings and real connections to these things.

I should have thought more about that before posting. I should have chosen my words with more care, or maybe even kept them to a conversation rather than putting them out into the world in a way that might cause pain instead of understanding.

The truth is, I don’t want to add to the division that already exists. I don’t want to make anyone feel unheard or disrespected. We live in the same city, walk the same streets, breathe the same air. That has to count for something.

So, again, I’m sorry for any hurt I caused. I’ll do better next time. And if you ever want to sit down and talk about it, really talk, I’m here. Because conversations are where understanding starts.

Take care, and stay good to each other.

    I read your story,

I personally am against the removal of statues that represent history. I am also not for naming buildings or erecting statues anymore due to peoples recent inability to process or understand complex issues.

Peoples inability to contextualize or understand history is tragic at a minimum. Hindsight is always 20-20 as the old saying goes. What I can’t understand is: Who do we think we are to judge the actions of others centuries ago, who fought so hard for the survival of this Country we take for granted

Don’t forget that this “American Experiment” is just that, an Experiment. Establishing a country based on a high moral standard thru shared personal responsibility, High Moral Standards and Civic Duty. A govt by the people for the people. **America isn’t a Democracy, Democracy is majority wins, which is mob rule & not a sustainable way to exist**

    History timeline:

-European expansionism into the Americas, first Vikings then Spanish Conquistadors. 1400-1600 A.D. Massive, multigenerational Genocide of indigenous people North & South America. (Culture & society’s erased, foreign pillaging, resource stealing, disease & slavery of those not killed. (Men, women, children, as it has since the biblical & written history of the world)

Who’s responsible for this period & what happened since then? Spain, France, Britain, Globalist, ______?

-Colonialism of America creation of the USA 1600-1800 A.D.

Hostilely & some harmony between Europeans & Native Americans. (More genocide & War) Trade relations & resources spurred new industries. Triangle trade networks of growth (Primarily by the British East Indies Company)

Sugar & Rum – Cotton & natural resources – textile industry of Europe & slaves from Africa sent to Americas to further the wealth of those who sold & bought (Goods) on both ends. The most wealthy become the power wielder’s of the economy, government & industry (As it had been prior in the world)

    America Continues: 1800-1900 AD

More Wars, Expansion. More industry & the birth of the “Federal” form of government shifting power to the top & away from states/citizens. Here is where we slavery explains the civil war by saying the North wanted to free all the slaves, & the South were racist that thought owning people was ok.

Stonewall Jackson was a Confederate General who’s statue was removed because he was a Racist Slaveowner who’s oppression of black people still holds those people in bondage today. FALSE Narrative

Confederate General- (1860-1865)Yes. Believed in States Rights over the oppressive & hippocritcal federal governments over reach of power structure for government clearly outlined in the constitution. (1776 A.D.)

Stonewall Jackson was a pious man, who yes did own slaves, as did the majority of the Northern & Southern states from centuries of prior history before these men were born. Stonewall Jackson Wrote a letter to the Sheriff, Commonwealth Attorney, Senators & Congressional members protesting & openly defying the law of the land. During this time it was illegal to teach Blacks to read.

Stonewall Jackson ran a Sunday School for slaves in Lynchburg, VA. In his letter he wrote that Every Human Being deserves to know The LORD & have a relationship with Jesus Christ. That he would NOT Stop teaching the slaves to read, that he cared more about his judgement before GOD than he cared about Man’s Law to prevent someone from reading the bible.

Fast forward thru the next 100 years. Terrible race relations in America

    1965: Malcom X is assassinated

1965: Lyndon Baines Johnson (Democrat) said “when I sign this Bill I will have every —– Vote Democrat for the next hundred years. One of the most disgusting things I have ever heard in my life. Its recorded, He said it in the oval office.

    1968 MLK is assassinated

2020 Woke culture starts tearing down statues, getting triggered when you don’t follow the PC Police telling you how to address someone. Telling white people they are the white devils of the days in the past because of my skin color. I’m 1/8 Cherokee indian. I’ve never blamed someone for what happened. My last name came thru Ellis Isle.

We are far more alike than we are different when we talk to one another. It’s the media that divides us, & WE ALLOW IT. Political theater, it’s the same Globalist, Industry & evil power structures of the government (NWO) that have done to us now, what they have to done to us for centuries. (Today it’s more economic slavery than physical bondage)

They have planted so many poisonous seeds in every facet of life & government that have grown into a forest of Organized Chaos. Masterfully stoking the flames of fear and disinformation where reality has lost its meaning for many. Perception is reality, So if you perceive it, it will be.

Don’t miss the forest for the trees friends & family! Don’t forget how far we have come to being a better Society. And don’t forget that we still have a long long way to go. A return to moral standards, a return to civil engagement in our government at every level, a return to Personal Responsibility, A return to neighbors comprising counties, counties making states and states handling their own business with citizens holds much more promise for our future than the Federal Government fixing the problems of 330,000,000-350,000,000 million people over 50 states and 5 time zones. (Pyramid Scheme)

If there was another war in America today, I would not be on the side of the Alphabet boys. I would be on the side of every other American who still holds on to those true words of the Constitution, the Bill of Rights- to Life, Liberty & The Pursuit of Happiness.

One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter

Those who don’t know their history are doomed to repeat it.

Thank You for the Conversation. See ya around Neighbors. Remember, we have far more in common than not, Regardless of what the media wants to shove in your face. I see people, not their color, but the content of their character.

this post and your other one resonates with me alot.

our problem is not an insidious network created by some shadowy group labeled “the elites”. our problem is that we have a global network of self-fashioned clerics that are trying to define the developed world’s everyday imperfection through an insular lens of dogma and pretentious melodrama.

you’ve got a great overall site! Mike
